Capture
Capture involves two elements: First; the creation of an electronic document (either through scanning or data assembly), and second; assigning index information about that document.
Once the document is in electronic form (.tif, .pdf, .txt, .xml, etc.) and has relevant index information associated with it, it begins its life within the Enterprise Content Management solution. The CAPTURE process can also contribute content to other systems such as accounting, inventory, employee, CRM and reporting systems.
